The
Golden Eaglets of Nigeria on Tuesday qualified for the final of the
FIFA Under-17 World Cup holding in the United Arab Emirates by beating
their Sweden counterparts, Blagult, 3-0.
Taiwo Awoniyi scored Nigeria opening goal in the 21st minute of the first half.
The stiff opposition mounted by the Swedes after the goal failed to fetch them the equalizer.
When it seemed they might get a goal in
the second half, Samuel Okon fired in the Eaglets second goal with a
left foot cracker while Chidi Ezeh tapped in a minute later to seal the
Swedes hope of making it to the final in their debut at the global meet.
Nigeria will meet Mexico, who beat South American power house, Argentina, 3-0 in Dubai on Friday.
The Eaglets defeated Mexico 6-1 in their group game.
